Thinking of all the Young clan and especially my childhood friend Heather. Joyce was just a lovely woman. I loved living in Koromiko Rd with great family's in our street. Happy memories. Would love to join you at Joyce's service but I'm unable to get back to NZ from Sydney at the moment. You are all in my thoughts.

I also have happy memories of the time when we lived a little up the hill from your place in Koromiko Road and the kindness of your mother. I send my condolences to you all as you celebrate her long life.

Thinking of you all as you gather to remember your mum's remarkable life. I have fond memories of the fun time growing up in Koromiko Road with your family living nearby. Our mums met through St Peter's Church and became good friends. Joyce was a kind, caring person with a smile I will always keep in my heart.
My love and condolences to you all. xxx

Joyce was a significant part of my early years in Koromiko Road, Wanganui. As the mother of David and Bruce in particular, as well as Jackie and the rest of the family, she represented a foundation of the community of the Koromiko Road expressed for me through the Cart Club, music making, and the life of the Gonville School community. Personally I responded to the warmth of her personality and the sense that she represented quiet wisdom.
I am grateful for the role of the Youngs in the formative years of my life. I would lke to express my sincere condolences to the family.
