I recall John as my former Boss at the then Kendon Mills Muldoon office in Auckland back when he would have been just 32 or 33 years of age.
That was when he was about to move to Price Waterhouse.
Cancer unfortunately, is one of those things that can beat even the smartest of us.

Hello Ginny,
I was extremely saddened to read of John's death.
It immediately brought back comparatively youthful and exuberant days at our flat at 484 Manchester Street, ski weekends at Mt Olympus, and just the odd night at the Grenadier Hotel.
Memories will abide at this time of great sadness.
Sincere condolences to you and family from me and Sue.
With every best wish.

Dear Ginny, Rosie and Family
John was my year at College and from the earliest days was seen as really genuine and a good guy.
What he achieved subsequently in his business career was outstanding on so many fronts and in his natural way he quickly earned the respect of countless people.
We know that as a family man he was greatly loved and there will be many powerful memories for the younger generation to take with them in the years ahead.
Our love and special thoughts at this sad time.

Dear Jinny, Rosemary and Families,
Our condolences to you all for the loss of a Husband, Father and Brother. I well remember babysitting John and Rosie all those years ago in Byron St. Greymouth, and valued the close relationship with The Wallers over many years. Our thoughts are with you all.

John you and I were just recent acquaintances but I'd like to think of the mutual respect we gave and had for each other. The candid and some deep thoughts of common areas of community family and wider affairs in the Auckland region with whanau Hapu and iwi.
Respectfully Warahi & Linda

An exmaple of how to be a truely remarkable person with humility.
Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
I remember when John hired me at Pricewaterhouse. On my very first day he asked me to pick-up his car from the service centre. I was a young chap and excited, thinking John as the senior partner would have a mercedes or range rover....but no...John had a basic brown subaru station wagon with gumboots in back (I dont think it was even four wheel drive!). It was early lesson in how to be successful with humility.
