On Sunday (Fathers Day), in the ICU at Wellington Regional Hospital, John quietly slipped away, surrounded with love and to the strains of Ave Maria. Dear Rosemary and family

Very sorry to hear about John's passing. You were a wonderful couple sharing so much from those early days when you used to go pig hunting out of Wainuiomata, up until the great life you both made at Peka Peka (with hens, doves, peacocks, pigs and sheep). He will be missed so much.

Best wishes and love
Janet

John, You taught me many things, there were things I didn't know, but you failed to teach me one final thing ... how to let you go. I wish I had been able to tell you one more time that I love you and cherish the memory of sun pouring into your dining room, struggling to fill in the Domion daily crossword with you and Rosemary. You are now with my Gary and your mum and dad and this in some small way gives me comfort. To my family from across the miles, you are a beautiful strong family and my brother was so very lucky to have you all with him in his final hours. Love to all, Aunty Mary xxx
