SHANKS, John Steuart:
On February 1, 2019, suddenly and peacefully at home in Christchurch after a happy time with family. Dearly loved by, and who dearly loved, Margaret; Jamie and Karen; Eleanor, Wayne, Adam, and Jack; Alice and Ivy; Helen, Chris and Bella. Messages may be addressed to the Shanks family, c/- 19 London Street, Christchurch 8013. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a copy of a photo of John doing something he enjoyed, if you have one. A celebration of John's life will be held at the Cashmere Presbyterian Church, 2 Macmillan Ave, Christchurch, Tomorrow (Thursday), at 1.00pm.

John will be missed at ferrymead. He was such a great person. And we loved his mystery bus trips he did. We are going to do the next 1 in honor of him. condolences to Margaret and family. The service was wonderful!

John was passionate about his historical transport interests. An inspiration to those who associated with him. His spirit for moving things beyond the last Christchurch tram and the renaissance of trams in the streets today is testament to his vision for the future. Good by John
