OGILVIE, John Edward:
Formerly of Lower Hutt, on 17 April 2021, peacefully taken from us in his 90th year. Dearly loved husband of Helen, and treasured father and father-in-law of John & Kaye, Fiona & Phil, Andrew & Amanda (California), Sarah & Guy (London). Dearest Poppa to Hannah & Jake, and Matthew, Emily and Sophie, and Freya.
Forever in our hearts,
and now at peace.
Special thanks to the staff at the Hutt Hospital Medical Ward for their respect and care of Dad for the time he was in hospital. A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday 23 April 2021 at 10.30am in Cornwall Manor, corner of Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt, followed by a private cremation. There will be a messages book at the celebration so personal messages can be left for the family. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Wellington Free Ambulance, who John supported for many years. These can be left at the service.

I was sorry to see your Dad's notice in the paper today. Please accept my very sincere condolences. I've many fond memories of your dad - 'Big O' - and I'm sure you'll all miss him.

What a lovely gentleman John was. He provided me with great encouragent when I first sarted playing bowls and included me in his team at a time when it was difficult to break in. This was despite a certain lack of expertise on my part!
A truly great guy and a pretty handy bowler in his time! RIP John
