John Montgomerie:
11.05.1947 - 12.10.2018
Aged 71 years. Most dearly loved and cherished husband and best friend of Denys and the late Debbie (Evensen). Treasured father and step-father of Jono and Vicky, and Veronica, Aaron, Rhys and Jonathan and partners. Special Grandad and Grandpa John of all his grandchildren. Son of the late Norman and Zona Nicholson and brother of Claudia and Murray. At peace after a courageous battle with Prostate cancer.
Much loved
and forever missed.
Special thanks to the Te Omanga Hospice team and Dr Simon Robinson for their care. Donations to Te Omanga Hospice in lieu of flowers would be appreciated. John will rest at home until Tuesday if you wish to farewell him personally. Service to be held at Rimutaka Baptist Church at 11.00am on Wednesday, October 17.

You have been a mate for the last 50 years, way back in those Pinehaven days, then you went herd testing in your little Morrie van and of course the adventure of 6 guys in Ironsides. We did some real dumb things but had heaps of fun and a lie me down (Lion Brown) at the end of the day. Rest In Peace my dear friend, you added colour to my life, next time I see ya we will go once more around the block in The Oxford or Russ's Morris Minor that lost the front wheel on the way to a Saturday nite party. John, I didn't know you for very long but I know that you were one of the good guys....believe me, Denys told me that many times as we worked together! I always had a plan to get over to NZ to visit you and Denys but life got in the way....now I will make a new plan that I will get over to visit Denys...I'm sure you would approve. Rest easy
