McLEAN,
John Lyall Gordon:
1932 - 2022.
A lover of life, books, martinis and people. Described by many as an international man of mystery - John had friends all over the world. His wit, grace and intelligence were second to none. Brother to Fergus and the late Denis, he spent his formative years in Wellington before moving to Hong Kong, where he had a distinguished career in law, and then New York. He leaves a huge void - especially in the lives of adored wife Erica, daughters Robyn and Chloe, and sons Campbell and Andrew (deceased). A dearly loved grandfather to Byron, Mia, Harper and Enzo and Lachlan and Declan and great-grandfather to Grace. John packed more into his 89 years than most and while his light has been dimmed, it will never go out. He died peacefully in Wellington surrounded by his family. Special thanks to the amazing staff at Te Hopai. The family will be forever grateful for the care you gave. A private cremation has been held. An event to celebrate John's life will be held next month.
