John JASPER Obituary

Born in Wales May 1944, passed away peacefully at Te Omanga Hospice, Lower Hutt, on Saturday 4th November 2023. Beloved husband of Rosemary for 57 years. Loved father of Francis, Simon, Katherine and their partners. Much loved grandad of Alix, James, Joshua, Chelsea, Eleanor, Loralei, Scarlett, Harry and their partners. Loving Great-Grandad of Willow, Eloise, and Remy. Special thanks to the staff of Te Omanga Hospice for their help and kindness in John's last days. In lieu of flowers donations to Te Omanga Hospice would be appreciated and maybe left at the service. A service for John will be held in St Hilda's Anglican Church, 35 Cruickshank Road, Upper Hutt, on Friday 10th November 2023 at 11.00am.

In the early days, I knew John Jasper as "my friend´s dad". Time went by, and he remained a staple figure in my life at Christmases, birthdays and varied celebrations for some 33 years. That regular, consistent, reliable presence over time morphed him from "my friend´s dad" into an important and familiar cornerstone figure in my life. His passing is a tangible loss. Thank you John, and thank you Rosemary. I love you. And my deepest condolences to you Kath, to Simon and Francis, and to all the grandchildren. xx
