John GUINAN Obituary

GUINAN, John Bernard:
09.05.1934 - 23.02.2022
Warrant Officer 175025, RNZAF. John loved life. He loved people, he loved making things, but most of all he loved home and family. Wife Marilyn and children Carolyn, Mandy, Bill and Pip, and partners Mark, Dean, and Henry have lost their "Mr fix it". Grandchildren Hannah, Raymond, Hayley, Tom (dec), Amanda, Jennifer, Magi, John, Lisa, Ollie and Sarah will miss his good natured humour. The number of great-grandchildren stands at 7 but is a work in progress.
You have earned your rest John.
John will be at home with family on Saturday and Sunday before a private cremation. There will be a memorial service for John at Beauchamp Crematorium Chapel, 167 John F Kennedy Drive, Palmerston North, on Wednesday 9 March 2022 at 2.00pm to allow time for family to arrive from Australia. Current Covid-19 limitations will apply and vaccine passes checked at the door. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John Ambulance Marton would be appreciated and may be left at the service.

Vexed to learn of the passing of John, I guess we go back a long way. John was always bright and cheerful, helpful to a fault and always smiled. A great friend. Didn't see too much of him in recent times but non-the-less my memories iof him are still strong.
Sincere condolences Maralyn from Margaret and Gordon Smith.

Marilyn, I am sorry for your loss. My parents were very friendly with Jack and Lyla and my eldest brother Ian went to both primary and secondary school with John. I remember John so well when I was growing up and watched him play tennis with Ian and John McLeavey. I know my sister-in-law, Marlene, saw you occasionally at cards. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Helen Ryder-Goodman, Waikanae.
