John was a favoured work colleague in the late 80's early 90s as a freelance writer/director/producer.
I was a cameraman/editor at Marmalade Video/Vision and worked with him a number of times on rural projects and an unforgettable telethon in Nelson.
I will all ways remember him on location as a presenter, with his hip pocket script, memorising 20 to 30 seconds at a time,
presenting to camera and then the obligatory Gordon head turn.
May you rest in peace John, I enjoyed my time working with you.
Regards to the family at this time of loss.

It is of great sadness to learn of the passing of the great John Gordon.
Johns' name is synonymous with the sport of dog trialling in New Zealand.
The New Zealand Dog Trial Association wish to express our sincerest condolences to the entire Gordon family.

I will never forget John's kindness and skill in 1990 when we made 'The Final Flight", the story of Marlborough's unique airline Safe Air. His passing is a huge loss of a remarkable gentleman.

A man of the land, John Gordon was humble, had integrity and lots of wit. John along with his support crew were special guests of the Hope´s at Koranga Station, Matawai, when he visited with country calendar in 1982. We have treasured the copies of the footage made available to us following his visit. RIP John.
