John BROOKING Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 19 September 2023 at Wellington Hospital, with his brother at his bedside. Beloved husband of Ann for 50 years. Loved eldest son of Ben and Jean Brooking (both deceased) and brother of Max and brother-in-law of Robyn. Cherished uncle of Jason, Glen, Heidi and Natalie, great-uncle of Janaya, Quaelin and Kaewa, great-great-uncle of Liam, Noah and Isabella. Companion and special brother-in-law of Marilyn. John was a true gentleman and loved by all. A service for John will be held at The Ninness Funeral Home Chapel, 17 Kenepuru Drive, Porirua on Thursday 28 September 2023, commencing at 1.00pm. Followed by private cremation. The service will be livestreamed and please email [email protected] for link details. We will miss John - he used to drop in with Ann (an old schoolmate) and Marilyn on his way to visit Max and family for Christmas each year. We lived in Auckland and Wellington when John and Ann lived there, and kept in touch. We will miss him.
