John Geoffrey Barrington
(Geoff):
Passed away on 3rd March 2023. Much loved and adored husband of the late Mary. Loved brother of Philip & Miriam; Rosemary & Dennis; and Justin & Kathy. Loved father to Fiona and loved by his many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Geoff's life will be held at Cedarwood, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae on Monday 20th March at 2.00pm.

Am very sad to know Geoff died on 3 March 2023. Geoff was a good friend when we were students at the University of Canterbury. Much later, in Wellington, he met and married Mary. Geoff was a devoted husband to Mary and he adored Fiona. We lost contact in later years which I regret because Geoff was always helpful, honourable and learned. My sympathies to his family.

My late husband, Roger Glackin, was a good friend of Geoff's and his flatmate around 1980. In fact it was Geoff who introduced me to Roger at a social function. I also remember visiting him in Karori, with Mary and Fiona. I haven't seen Geoff for very many years.

Very sad to hear that Geoff has died - I met him when I worked in the Health Department in 1980 and had lots of fun with that group of friends. I have not seen him for some time though.
