Dear family of Joan, I mean no disrespect if I have the wrong Joan Baber. Was she a member of the Congrationalist Church in Karori? I met Joan only twice in my life but she was the kindest lady that I ever met!!! I tried to email her today to wish her Happy Easter and to enquire after the health of her beloved husband (I never knew his name) and my email bounced so at our age, naturally I wondered ... I would like to know sincerely please?

To the Baber family
It was with sadness that we read of Joan's passing this week. Joan and our mum, Dulcie, enjoyed a great friendship over many years as members of the St Anselms parish family in Karori, and we personally were very grateful for Joan's wonderful piano-playing and kindness at mum's funeral last February. She will be fondly remembered by us all and our heartfelt condolences go to her families.

Dear Alison
I am remembering Joan with great affection. She was a great support to me in my time at st anselm s . We had some great times with choir and with productions of Joseph and his amazing technicolor dreamcoat and Jesus Christ superstar. Joan was also part of my ministry support group during my training. She was a significant person in my life! Love to you all

I am Chris Constable. Your motherJoan and I were very good friends, especially so since John died. I too, am a pianist. Your mother once told me she would love to be able to do what I do, (play by ear), and I replied and I would love to do what YOU do - read any music and play it. We sometimes went to films together, accidentally arriving at a filmed Andre
Rieu concert. We rocked and sang to it together. Joan will be sorely missed.
