Jean MURPHY Obituary

MURPHY, (Alma) Jean:
Passed away peacefully at Huntleigh Home, Wellington, on 4th December 2020; aged 87 years. Adored wife of Don (dec) for nearly 65 years. Much loved and loving mother and mother-in-law of Janet & Philip, Ruth & Michael, Christopher & Erica. Grandmother of Andreas, Kieran and Caitlin, and great-grandmother of Tabitha and Edward. Also loved and respected by Gerard, Donald and Megan.
Jean was a vibrant, sociable, determined and resilient woman who always looked out for others.
She had a sharp intelligence and dry wit that never faded, even as she did.
A huge thank you to the staff at Huntleigh who have become our extended family over the past 7 years as they cared for both Don and Jean with such kindness and compassion. A Service for Jean will be held in St Mary's Anglican Church, 176 Karori Road, Karori, on Monday 14 December, at 12.00pm. Followed by private cremation.
