Kia ora Mbn6yoana. Just today I´ve read of your Mum´s passing. I remember her as a determined and forthright MP for Gisborne and the area. She had a great sense of fun and must have been a marvellous host. Sadly I didn´t ever manage to get to dine at her restaurant, which was one of her dreams. My sincere sympathy to you and your whanau. Kia kaha, Harry.

Such sad news. Janet was feisty, progressive and no-nonsense. She was a superb orator, and a tireless advocate for Gisborne and the Cape. Gone much too soon.

This is just a personal note to extend to you Moana and the family sincere condolences and deepest sympathy in the recent sad loss of your mother Janet. No words can really touch the grief and sadness that you feel, but I am sure the kindness and support of family and friends will be of comfort at this sad time.

Janet was a dear friend of my grandparents and close with my whanau. She brought me my first tea set as a girl which is still at my grandparents house. She will be dearly missed, sending aroha to her whanau at this time. Ali xx

Remembered with gratitude for the Parliamentary team she built around her who became lifelong friends, and for the fun and food she provided us... love and laughter, Janet.
