The celebration of Jamie´s life captured his many qualities but more importantly the love and trust family and friends had in him.
Jamie was a man of innate talent - able to take a concept to reality.
He was a dear friend and special colleague. We are the richer for knowing him.
Arohanui Jill, Gemma, Sophie and all your whanau.

My deepest condolences to Jamie's family and friends. He was an outstanding man whose gentle presence and leadership had a huge impact on me many years ago when I first arrived to New Zealand. I moved to Wellington from the States in 2003 and my first job was for Recreation Wellington. It was the best team of people and we had a fantastic, collaborative, encouraging and fun environment. Jamie was at the helm, and his gentle, yet firm leadership meant we were successful and felt supported in our mission to promote recreation and the arts in Wellington. His style of leadership was refreshing to me - he empowered those around him, and had very little ego himself. In this way, he was my first experience of `mana´. He had strong values and lived and worked from those. He backed his team and advocated for us on all occasions. My job at Recreation Wellington was putting together the Feeling Great website and brochures. I remember in my first month or so in this role, I made a pretty big mistake in the printing of the brochures. I forgot to include the APW logo, which was meant to be on everything produced by WCC. So, thousands of these brochures were printed without the logo. Jamie would´ve taken the rap for that from the `powers that be´ at WCC. However, rather than anger or frustration, Jamie approached me and simply made sure I had in place a process which included a couple of others checking the final drafts before printing. His steady, kind presence left such an impression on me and I feel privileged for having known him. Wishing you all strength and love as you navigate these tough times. RIP Jamie.

My condolences to Jamies family at a very difficult time. Jamie is and will always be a Mighty Totara. I worked with Jamie over a number of years, all be it not closely. Jamies commitment to family, humble approach and the courage to fight for what is right has influenced that way I attempt to approach my own life.

We send our deepest sympathy and thoughts to all the Delich family.
Hilary said yesterday Jamie always had such a 'presence" and there certainly was something very special about him: a kind of aura.
He'll surely be missed but leaves behind an amazing legacy of positive influence on so many lives. You are right to feel proud to have had him in your whanau. He will be part of you all forever.
Heartfelt condolences from our family to yours.
The Keenan Family.

Jamie was a wonderful positive person, always helpful to me and kind. Truely lucky to have meet him and saddened by his passing. I knew Jaime through work but more as a friend. He cared to see me succeed at what I did and mentored me through my pool managers diploma when younger. All my love to his entire family and may he Rest in Peace

Jamie was my first "boss" when I left school in 1988. He taught me the importance of having pride in your work place, your uniform and being accountable to your team. Those same principles applied when he coached me at colts rugby. These core principles have stuck with me 35+ years on. Thank you Jamie for the influence you had on myself and so many other people. What a great legacy to have left. My thoughts and condolences are with the family. You will be greatly missed Jamie.

To Jill and family, I knew Jamie from my time at Wellington City Council. He was an outstanding official and a good man too. He served his City and Region with distinction and left his mark. He will be missed. He absolutely deserves the epitaph by Robert Burns: "Few hearts like his, with virtue warm´d, few heads with knowledge so inform´d; If there´s another world, he lives in bliss; If there is none, he made the best of this."
Goodbye Jamie, thank you and RIP.

To Jill and family. On behalf of Leigh Dalton and our family we would like to extend to you our deepest sympathy.
It was so terribly sad for me to tell DAD. He was very sad. He said he was pleased he caught up with you both at rugby a few weeks ago. Then he got his smile back and said out loud baths. We can call the complex the baths. Apparently Jamie hated his beloved leisure centre referred to as baths. He laughed. He said they called it the Complex from there on In. Sending our love and thoughts
