I was privileged to be at the funeral yesterday and wanted to express how deeply moved I was. I am full of admiration for you all, for your courage, your candour and your commitment to conveying as best you could the essence of Jack and everything he meant to you. I met you only fleetingly through Jack's friendship with my son Robbie, so I have learned more about Jack through his death than I knew about him in life. What I came to understand so well yesterday was the power of the love he was always surrounded by, and your unfaltering commitment to him and to helping him in all of the ways that you could. His friends, too, are a shining testament to the genuine, loyal and determined person he was. How can a heart ache and be so full at the same time? Please know that even in the depths of the abyss of your loss, you will never be alone. Sincerely, Helen

Dear Amanda, John, Brin and Anna
There are no words to express how very sorry we are for your loss. Our hearts are breaking for you all. I feel blessed that despite the distance, we were able to meet and visit with him several times. He was a sweet young man. Please know that you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that you will find strength, peace and the knowledge that he was a fine young man because of his dear family.

The realest person I ever had the gift of knowing, Jack was one of my closest friends and will always stay with me. I know you are still here watching over me, and Every Value you taught me I will work my hardest to uphold in the rest of my journey. You have changed my life both in life and death more then anyone ever could and i truly mean that from the bottom of my heart. Such a devastating loss. He was one of the most incredible and inspirational people I've ever had the privilege to call my friend. He had an amazing personality, energy and a pure heart. He gave me some advice that I will carry close to my heart and apply to my everyday life for the rest of my life. Sending my love, prayers and condolences to your family. Dear Van Gorps,
Thanks for sharing your son/brother with us. I will miss his smile, additions to his playlists, his quirky nature and just the awesome, respectful young man he'd grown to be. It was such a pleasure being around him. He'll always be remembered as the two lane legend. Jack with the sack full of tea to pack!
