Ian HALDANE Obituary

After many enquires I found out who Ian was. I have his bible from a second hand bookstore (Evermore), often thinking this man and I have been on the same page, underlining verses that resonate for us both.

Kia ora e te whanau - I just found out Ian died because I wanted to get back in touch. We studied teaching English together in the early 1990s and connected again when he used to come to Whakaoriori/Masterton for the waka ama competitions. I enjoyed his enthusiasms and his love of life. Moe mai ra e hoa na Randal

Ian was just so lovely to deal with....we were just a small customer but he always had time for us. Will be sadly missed

I only knew Ian by phone but over the years I developed enormous respect for him. Many people close to me have enhanced health because of him and for that we are very grateful. Condolences to family from The Food Club

He was the most generous person i have ever seen. His death was a bolt from the blue for me. He was an inspiration to me.

I will never forget you. and i will miss you.
