Hoani PAKU Obituary

PAKU, Hoani Manu Hiwaru:
On November 28th, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by whānau, after a short illness. Aged 75 years. Eldest son of the late Matiaha Hiwaru Kahu and Florence Paku. Cherished and loved partner of Cathy Haste. Much loved father of Jason and Nathan. Adored brother and brother-in-law of Kohai (dec), Panatahi and Peter (dec) Sue, Susan and Richard Taylor, Matt and Marilyn Paku, Denis and Liz Paku, David Simonsen (dec) and Terry Simonsen (dec). Loved Koro and Koko of all his mokopuna, nieces and nephews. Special friend of Emma and Daniel, Robyn and Chris. Hoani will be lying at Mtuwairaka Marae, 274 Riversdale Road, Riversdale Beach, today (Tuesday). All welcome. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of his life at St Matthew's Church, Church Street Masterton on Wednesday 30th November at 11.00am. Private cremation to follow. Special thanks to Abe and Debbie Matenga, The Chamberlains of Chamberlain Road, Ray Haste and Teresa Reynolds, Jason Ngatuere, Cathy Nicholson and the HDU and Palliative Care Nurses.
