Hinehou EDWARDS Obituary

With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, Nanny, aunty, and dear friend, Hine Edwards. She peacefully departed from us at her home in Te Marua, Upper Hutt, on July 10, 2024. Hine's life will be honored at Te Kakano Marae in Moera, where she will lie in state from Friday at 3.00pm until Sunday morning. Her final journey will lead her to Waimako Marae in Waikaremoana, where she will be laid to rest on Monday at 10.00am in the family cemetery, Rangitirohia Urupa. Her legacy is encapsulated in the words:
'He kukupa marire - rakaina ki nga rauwaiwaia Rere noa nei ki te pae tawhiti o te kahurangi, He koha aroha tuku iho - e kore e warewaretia'.
"She was a gentle dove - adorned with the plumage of all things beautiful. Has taken flight to the distant horizon of the heavenly realm, life's gift of love - never to be forgotten."
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest peacefully, Mum. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

My dear Hine
We were Cub Leaders together at the Plateau Scout Group.
I remember our fun and laughter and your joy at being with the young ones.
Dear gental soul, I was sad when Gavin bought me the news.
You are remembered with love and respect.
Go, be with our Lord and there we will meet again.
Condolences and love to the family
