We have only just heard the news and would like to send our condolences to Graeme´s whanau. I first met Graeme on a Whanganu beach walk when working with Ridgway on the Summer Nature Programme. I was his TEC (Tail End Charlie) looking out for stragglers and Graeme breezed up to me in that good-natured genial way and began talking as if we were old mates. It took me a while for it to sink in because though they are identical twins, they are themselves too. I finally managed to put it together `You´re Ridgway´s brother!´ We met up intermittently over the years though my best story comes from someone I ran into in Taranaki. She had just come off a tramp through the back of Stratford and late one afternoon on getting to a hut had found two brothers ensconced outside. One was on the barby, the other was sitting in the last of the sun reading The Spectator. I knew exactly who these two were, but never let on... Arohanui Derek Schulz and Jill Studd - Raumati Beach

We are very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Graeme. I have many fond memories of all the trips that Graeme took me on, starting with my first tramp as a 16 year old and the 10 day trips that followed.

To our dear friend Graeme. Your life has been cut too short. Now just memories. I remember meeting you at Fiat in London,1978. The many long distance walks and the ski trip to Courmeyeur we did with you & Michele while we were both in the UK. Then back in NZ the different trips you organized- tramping, skiing & other trips as well as trips to the theatre, travelling through the Stans together and of course sharing each of our birthdays each year. Unfortunately while we would love to, we cannot be there to say our final goodbye, but you will in our thoughts.

Graeme lead a team in Australia to develop and implement a replacement accounting system for both BP in NZ and Australia. I found him to be a dedicated, resourceful and genuine team leader. He was one of the "good guys".
