Gordon James:
Peacefully on Friday 13 January 2023, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne for 61 years. Loving father and father-in-law of Michael & Kirsten Forrester, Moira, Catherine & the late Calum Maclean, Robert & Toni Patterson-Gallagher, Peter & Jeanne Snelling, Stephen & Sarah. Beloved Granddad of Ronan, Angus, James, Daniel & Claire; Benjamin & Martha; Connor & Molly-Jane; Lucy & Gabriel; & Iris. Son of Michael James (Jim) and Julia Gallagher. Loved brother of Noreen, Pat & Pauline. Life member of the Kaikorai Brass Band and founding member of the Dunedin Musicians Club. Grateful thanks to Msgr John Harrison, the wonderful staff of both Bradford Manor and Summerset at Bishopscourt & all who cared for him. A Requiem Mass for Gordon will be held at 1.30pm, on Thursday 19 January 2023, at St Joseph's Cathedral, Rattray Street, Dunedin, followed by a private burial. There will be a Rosary for Gordon in the Cathedral at 7.00pm, on Wednesday 18 January. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Vincent de Paul would be appreciated and may be left at the Mass.
