Dear Jennie and Family. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Gerry. I have fond memories of his veterinary visits to my parents dairy farm in Cust and through him I had the opportunity to do work experience in the vet clinic. He was a highly respected vet and my father still rates him as the best vet he ever had. A kind and generous man who will be missed by many. Thinking of you all. Dawn Dalley

Dear Jennie & family, Sending our deepest sympathy & love to you all at Gerry's passing. So many great memories of Kippenberger Ave, at the clinic & the legendary Christmas parties at your home. We had a sailing get together before Christmas & watched a DVD of the match racing days at the Waimakariri, Gerry's commentary a highlight. He could have given Pete Montgomery a run for his money !
A lovely man who will be missed by so many, Go well Gerry.

Dear Jennie and family,
Our whole family were sad to hear that Gerry has passed away. We all remember him with great affection. He was a leader in in many Rangiora communities for some decades. He understood human frailty especially in other . I still use his catch phrase " all men (and women) have feet of clay ". You can look back on a good life together punctuated by laughter and sadness. It was a honour and privilege to represent Gerry's time in Rangiora, along with Bruce, Mary & Dougal, at Gerry's requiem. What a man he was, in the 30+ years here in our community veterinarian, family role model, Council member, rugby coach, leader in the local Catholic Church, orator, Raumati tennis group the list goes on! Along with Jennie and a fine bunch of children, they were shining lights in participation and serving our community. Kua kinga tethi totara a totara has fallen

Many condolences to the Stone family. Many memories of Gerry: the vets next door but one on Victoria Street, Gerry and his black labs, rugby coaching, and of course accepting of the endless stream of local kids welcomed into the house by both Jennie and Gerry. Will be a North Star for many of us!
