Died peacefully at Eldon Lodge on Wednesday, 8 June 2016, surrounded by family. Aged 93 years. Loving friend of Nola for 25 years, and former husband of Marie and the late Betty. Beloved father of Vicki & Mel, Joanne, and Donna & Steve. Loved Grandad of Rhiarn and Greer; Isabella and Sofia; and Isaac and Jasmine. Great-grandad to Layla and Zac. Loved brother of the late Kenneth and Brian McKay. Heartfelt gratitude for the care and love shown to Geoff and his family by the management and staff of Kapiti Rest Home and Eldon Lodge. Geoff's life will be remembered at a service to be held in the Kapiti Crematorium Chapel (situated in the grounds of Awa Tapu Cemetery), 133 Valley Road, Paraparaumu on Saturday, 11 June 2016, at 10.30am, followed by interment within the Cemetery.

Darling Daddy, thank you for loving each of us unconditionally without favour, for having our backs when times were tough, for teaching us to drive with our eyes on the road looking out for all the other buggers, for an early and loud appreciation of the Andrew Sisters and all things Boogie Woogie, for being a smart dresser and always having a hanky in your pocket to wipe away our tears. Having had you so close for so long, although we have known you would be leaving to join the boys in uniform, and we are at peace with your departure after an extraordinarily defiant defence of your position on this earth, I am at a loss today, my heart is sobbing without brakes, going downhill. What lucky girls we are. No father could have loved his children more. Thank you my darling. Sleep now. Job well done. Love Vicki, Joanne and Donna xxx
