Geoff was my 2IC for all my years in Computing Branch of Lands & Survey/DoSLI. You could rely on Geoff totally to get the job done - despite running the social events calendar for the entire Head Office! He was great. I still remember him breaking his hand when playing in our mixed netball team. The first broken bone in his entire sporting career - including more than 20+ years playing rugby. I am saddened by his passing.

Farewell Geoff. I have great memories going way back to your 21st birthday and the 10 flagon´s of beer left over which we heartily drank the following Monday along with David Wadsworth , Peter Doone ( ex NZ police commissioner ) Russ Preston and others long forgotten just now. We shared a couple of flats in Hataitai and in Lower Hutt. I was at your wedding to Carla and shared some fun times with you and Chris your son in the flat we shared in Lower Hutt. Not forgetting the good memories of the Royal Tavern day´s. We communicated thru messenger text and the occasional phone call to reminisce of the former days long since gone. God speed Geoff .. Murray.

Lovely memories of you in Tokomaru Bay with our family Geoff. Thank you for being a wonderful father to my niece and a good uncle to her cousins. Rest easy in the hands of our maker.

Geoff was one of the first people I met when I joined the Department of Survey and Land Information back in 1987. I was and still am amazed by his extraordinarily intimate knowledge of the New Zealand survey system and every trig station within it. He always provided a very practical view on any discussion - his feet were firmly on the ground. And it was great to catch up and share a laugh occasionally after he retired. He always seemed to be busy doing good things .. a great inspiration. Thankyou Geoff
