Geoffrey was a dear friend, I will miss his humour, his enthusiasm about things that he enjoyed or found amusing, I will miss all the little things that made Geoffrey, Geoffrey, you don't realise what an impact someone has on your life until they are gone and all you are left with are memories. I am blessed to have known you, I will never forget you and my last word to you my friend is SPOON......

I will remember Geoff forever; for his many interesting contributions to conversations, art, about history and music and so much more - a phenomenal knowledge base which he shared freely, aware that he knew so much in his areas of interest, without any judgement of my lesser understanding.

Geoffrey, although our exchanges were mostly fleeting, you were always generous, warm and funny. I will miss you, rest in peace my friend.

Thanks for briefly coming into my life Geoffrey. You were instrumental in making my days all the richer when you were in them.

Kia ora,

I'm the General Manager at MIX (previously Take 5). Geoffrey was a beautiful artist, a keen board member and lively member of our community. He will be sorely missed.

Once MIX is open again, we will be hosting an in-house gallery and celebrating of his life and artwork.

If you would like to attend this, please email me via [email protected] or call on 04 399 1085.

Whilst I only knew Geoffrey for a little over a year, he has left a lasting impression on me; tutoring me on oil pastels, clay work and even scone baking. Thank you, Geoffrey, for coming to MIX and sharing with us.

Kia kaha,

Fiona

I am so sad to learn this news from another ex Take 5 staff member. I will always hold fond memories of a very bright, creative
man with an extremely dry sense of humour who made great cheese scones. RIP I was lucky to know you.

It was sad to find this out Geoff, I really did enjoy our chats and messages you were always interesting to talk to and you always listened to me as well. I always considered you one of my close friends. Someone I could trust and talk to. I will try to contact your mother and see if I can find out some more details. Robin and myself have tried to contact you over the last few weeks and the last message I received from you was received on the 8th of February 2020. Take care from me and my wife Felicity.

This is very sad news. I last spoke to Geoffrey in mid February while still residing in Pahiatua then tried to contact just before and after my move to Masterton in early March, but got no response from him. I have known and supported Geoffrey for over 30 years and this news is devastating. Rest in peace.

Robin Warnes.

Rarely saw Geoffrey without his nose in a book and having a cuppa. He loved creating artwork and I have, for many years, had paintings done by Geoffrey hanging on the walls of my house. He was so knowledgeable about music and history, it was like talking to encyclopedia. These are my memories of Geoffrey.
