Geoffrey O'Neill:
Suddenly, at his home, aged 71 years. Beloved son of Patricia and the late Neill. Cherished brother and brother-in-law of David (dec), Mary Lynn, Stephen, Clare & James Watson, Peter & Jeanie, Phil & Fiona. Dearly loved uncle and great-uncle to all his nieces and nephews.

A service for Geoffrey will be held at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 173 Clyde Street, Island Bay, on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 1.00pm. All messages to the Cochrane family, C/- 547 Queen St East, Levin.

I heard recently of Geoff Cochrane´s passing, belatedly here in the UK. Such a witty and precise wordsmith, and a lovely bloke. I´ve been listening to his Radio NZ interviews and readings again.

I am so sorry to read last night of Geoff's passing. I have known him all my life, and he always stopped me for a chat in the street with his beautiful eyes and soft voice and our conversations with filled with his love of poetry. Had I known earlier I would have gone to his funeral in Island Bay. A good man with a good heart has left this earth. Farewell my mate.
