Frederick Sydney (Fred):
Peacefully on Tuesday 26 May 2020 at Shona McFarlane Rest Home, Lower Hutt. In his 95th year. Caring husband of the late Thelma. Father and father-in-law of Stefan & Monika, Craig & Paula. Proud grandfather of Jessica, Olivia, Amelia, and special relation of Michelle & Deke. Doting great-grandfather of Rico and Bryce. Loving son of the late Millie & Albie, and siblings Eddie, June and Grace. He loved all his nieces and nephews. Thank you to Shona McFarlane for the care given to Fred during his stay. A service for Fred will be held in Cornwall Manor on Tuesday 2 June 2020 at 11.00am. Messages to 'The Harris Family' c/- PO Box 30-127, Lower Hutt 5040.

Craig very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I have such fond memories of you and I attending the many rugby matches he refereed on Sunday afternoons. Also very grateful that he arranged for us to be ball boys at Hutt Rec for the senior matches on Saturday afternoons. That was 50 years ago now,- how time flies. Very happy memories indeed. All the best to you and Paula at this sad time.

Very sad news today in hearing the news of Freddys passing. Such a wonderful man who lived life to the fullest.

Sadly all good things come to an end as it has with Fred's passing. A great mate to hundreds who were fortunate enough to share part of his life and a man I have many, many great memories of time spent together. Would say more but as the man himself would say - "what goes on on tour stays on tour"

My old man was a great judge of character and if he reckoned a chap was a top bloke, then he was. In his eyes, and mine, Freddie was. Great memories of Freddie at the Hutt Rec and as 'Hutt' supporter and manager etc of Craig's various teams and driver on team trips. Always had a smile on his face and ready for a laugh. Condolences
