Dear Uncle Julien,
It was a sad day in Maine USA when I received the news of your passing! Very happy I talked to you before we left on our trip to NZ
Sure I would get to see you one more time.
Uncle Julien and Auntie Jean have been a part of my families life for ever! It all started because of my Mother Joyce Maranville (Graham)
and Auntie Jeans childhood friendship all the way through adults.
The love that was shared with visits, letters and phone calls were very precious and now loved memories.
Now my father Jim and my mother Joyce have their best friends with them OH My Heaven Watch Out!
Your loving niece,
Jacquie Maranville

Goodbye Uncle Julien, rest in peace beside Aunty Jean. It has been a privilege to have known you and Aunty Jean. I have fond memories of you giving me my childhood dog Bruno, assisting you climbing and cutting trees, well into your 80's, and cups of tea and dinner watching the sun go down over Kapiti Island.

Night and a bless Uncle Julien, fly high above the clouds and rainbows.
Thank you for your love and guidance, your beautiful made beds for me and our early morning breakfasts together, they are cherished memories. Your support for me when Dad passed, coming up to talk to Andrew before he flew to London and Sandhurst, then again when Mum passed and we had our financial hiccup, all within an 18 month period. You were my strong support with love, compassion and guidance. You gave me a safe place to stay when life's problems became overwhelming for me over the years... cups of tea, walks on the beach and most of all your love.... it felt I still had Dad with me while you were here. You opened your home to me when I had some of Stephens children on their Wellington 10th birthday celebrations, which of course always included a stay with Uncle Julien.. Every work trip to Wellington over the past 30 years a stay with you was a welcome break and catch-up on the extended family news. The downstairs flat was great, but most of all I loooked forward to the knock on the door in the morning for the 2 of us to have a cup of tea and chat together before you went upstairs to make our breakfast before Aunt Jean woke.
Then came the visits with my grandchildren....from me as a weekend guest from the 16-18 year old with the planned working bees at the cottage, the occasional Ball with the American Club and the US sailors from Operation Deep Freeze , to come full circle with Jesse and Sofia. To see you come alive with the children made my heart sing, they LOVE you so much. They aren't in the least bit scared of you, not like all your nieces and nephews were at their age!!
It has been such a privilege to help care for you since Aunt Jeans passing, as our guest at home many, many times, sitting by your bedside at Auckland Hospital, Wellington Hospital, staying at the apartment with you, then visiting your final room at Sevenoaks. I loved spending Christmas Day etc with you, I had a feeling it maybe your last, plus the extra days when you started to go downhill after the falls and puemonia.
Rest now, Enjoy your final flight to Heaven where all your loved ones have been waiting for your arrival.
Night and a bless my dearly beloved Uncle Julien, I will miss you terribly With all my love
Frances xoxo
