Frances CHERRY Obituary
Died peacefully surrounded by family in the early hours of Sunday, 24th April 2022, aged 84. She leaves behind her sister Maureen Birchfield, her five children; Brent, Craig, Jane, Robert and Caitlin along with 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Frances was a novelist, short story writer and creative writing teacher. A unique, passionate and fiercely loving woman who was ahead of her time. Her funeral will be held at the Cockburn St. Chapel in Kilbirnie, Wellington at 2.00pm on Friday, 29th April 2022.

Deepest sympathy to the family of Frances. She was one of a kind. Fond memories of our time together on the committee of NZSA which is how I met Frances. She started our book group and is missed by all of us. Her forthright honesty and lovely humour, special qualities we all admired.

I am saddened to learn that Frances has passed away. My Mum, Jan Grennell, took part in Frances' short story writing courses and Writing your Life Story classes at Wellington High School and spoke highly of Frances. Deepest Sympathy to Frances' family.
