Foss SHANAHAN Obituary

On 28th November 2023 at Te Hopai Home, peacefully in his sleep. Michael's life was a long, hardworking and often colourful journey - he has surely earned this rest. We express our profound and grateful thanks to all the Drs and nurses who have cared so professionally for Michael, over the past 2 years. Dearly loved husband of Lesley; father of Antonia, Foss & Phillipa, Hugo & Kate and Timmy (who died in May '23); always loving 'Michael' with his grandchildren Millie, Louis, Pippa, Arch and Goldie. Greatly loved eldest child of Foss & Joan Shanahan and brother of Dairne & Fraser, Paul (dec Geneva) & Helen, Peter & Wendy and Gregory & Vlasta; adored fun uncle to that family's 14 children. Loved brother-in-law of Lynn & Jeremy Blake Palmer, Michael & Sue Scott and Marty & Julianne Scott; and uncle to their family's 8 children. All are welcome to join us in celebrating Michael's life at St Mary of The Angels, Boulcott St, Wellington on Thursday 7th December 2023 at 2.00pm. Thereafter, a private cremation will occur.

Sympathy and prayers to Lesley, Antonia, Foss, Hugo as you farewell your husband and father, Foss. To your families too, sympathy to you all. Sorry to read about Tim's death some months ago. Requiescat in pace , Foss and Tim.
Lesley, a memory which has stayed with me was a parent interview evening when you and Foss were going to an evening event, beautifully dressed for the occasion. After a day at school, you reminded me that there is another world beyond the school fence ! Sorry I wont be able to attend the funeral tomorrow, but hope to watch online.
