OMG. Totally shocked at just seeing this terrible news. Fleur and I went out in 1977 (48 years ago). She was stunningly beautiful and a beautiful person. I remember going with her to the Queen Margaret’s College Ball, Football functions, Music concerts, BBQ’s and loads of parties.
She ‘dragged’ me across the Seatoun Football Clubrooms after one match to introduce me to a friend of hers - Jo Harris. I would meet Jo again more than 6 years later and we would end up marrying.
It was a privilege to have known such a wonderful person as Fleur - all be it, so very long ago. Condolences to all her loving family.

Very sad. I had the pleasure to work with Fleur and also as a friend. I have fond memories of her visiting a groundwater exploration site and coping with the noise and standing in the mud at the drilling head to inspect the drill core - she was a good sport. Len

I am very shocked at this sad news. My thoughts and condolences to her family. I have so many fond memories of Fleur when we worked together back in the 1990s. I was a young student then and Fleur looked after me so well, she was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. Thank you Fleur, memories of your kindness will always stay with me. Nga mihi nui. I was fortunate to work with Fleur many years ago at The Geological Survey. She was a wonderful colleague and friend. In this photo Fleur was brave enough to fly with me in a Cessna 206 aircraft while I took photographs with door off. She was a special person who will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace dear Fleur. Lloyd Homer.

I met Fleur at a Science Communication conference and we connected over a love of the natural world and ways to better communicate its fragility and importance. We were the same age and stayed in touch but not as frequently as we should have. A beautiful soul lost way too soon. Condolences to her family.
