Deep condolences to all the family. Pani Eugenia was one of the first people I met when I arrived in NZ in 1957. She was a very special lady. RIP

It is with sadness we say goodbye to Genia; mother, grandmother and great-grandmother but it is the memories of her long and very busy life that we will remember and cherish and the way she embraced our sister Marie into her family.
Although we met Mrs Smolnicki only 5 or 6 times, she insisted she was Genia to us and Bapcia to the children. She was always so busy baking or doing her craftwork but made time to speak and get to know us and take a real interest in our lives and never forgot a birthday or Christmas.
Although it is always a sad time, it is also a great release for Genia, passing peacefully on to have a well-deserved rest in safe hands, assured to her by her tremendous faith. Our thoughts are with Richard and Marie, Irena and Dave, Jan and Maria, Basia and Paul, Antoni and all the extended family, all of whom we have met in New Zealand and some we have even met in Scotland.
