GUNDERSEN,
(Betty) Elizabeth Maud:
Of Dannevirke. Aged 92 years. On 9 September 2016, peacefully at Rahiri Care Home, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly beloved wife of the late Alan, loved and adored mother and mother-in-law of David and the late Ann, Denise, Warren and Christine, Lynne and Jason, Judy and Malcolm, Susan and Richard, Kerrie, Wendy and Nigel and loved 'Nana and Grandma' to all her grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Betty requested donations to Dannevirke Idea Service and these may be left at the Service. Messages to Kerrie, 10B Victoria Ave, Dannevirke. A Service for Betty will be held in Knox Church, Swinburn Street, Dannevirke on Wednesday, 14 September at 1.00p.m. followed by private Cremation.

As a Nursing Student at the Dannevirke School of Nursing many years ago and then many years nursing at the Dannevirke Hospital. I remember Mrs Gunderson as the Charge Nurse of Ward 1, the first ward I nursed in as a student.

Mrs Gunderson will be remembered with much love and affection.

She touched so many hearts with her warmth,kindness...her beautiful smile,her kind eyes and gentle spirit!

Mrs Gunderson was always such a pleasant most professional lady, a model to achieve to be like her. Such a great contributor for the best patient care to all the lovely elderly patients in her care. A life well lived and loved by all who knew her as a nurse.
