Edna SAMMUT Obituary
Passed peacefully on 30 July 2022 at Riverleigh Care Home, aged 98 years. Much loved wife of the late Nick. Loved mum of Teresa, Paul and Maureen, and mother-in-law of Dennis and Jo. Loved Gran of her 7 grandchildren, and Super-Gran of her 16 great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff and residents at Riverleigh for their amazing care and support. A Requiem Mass for Edna will be held in St Martin de Porres Church, 8 Park Avenue, Epuni, on Thursday, 4 August 2022 at 11.00am, followed by private cremation. So sad to hear of Aunty Edna's passing away, it marks the end of an era as Edna was the last of her siblings. I will always have fond memories of my visits to the Sammut family home in Judd Crescent Naenae, these visits were looked forward to with great anticipation. I recall the warmth of aunty Edna's wonderful hospitality (and her great home baking) and will remember her as a caring and loving aunty. My condolences to all the family, I will be thinking of you at this sad time.

Although I didn't really know Maureen, I knew Teresa and Paul quite well. Attended the trots at Hutt Park in the company of Paul & Jo a few times. Knew Teresa and her husband, Dennis, from the Catholic Youth Movement. Met Mrs Sammut only a few times, although saw her at Mass often. She was a lovely lady, well respected.
My sincere condolences to Teresa, Paul, Maureen and all the family.
Almighty God, have mercy and let her rest in peace.
