Douglas TROTTER Obituary
Passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on 25th October 2021, aged 91 years. He was much beloved husband of Phyllis for 67 years, father of Murray, Peter, Owen (dec'd), Shirley and Cindy, grandfather of Marc and Jordan and father-in-law to Karen, Yani, Ramez and Mike.
May he rest in peace,
he will be greatly missed.
Thank you to the wonderful staff of the Opal Ward and Arohanui Hospice. A service for Doug will be held at the Terracehaven Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Wednesday 3rd November 2021, at 1.00pm. A livestream of the service is available, please email [email protected].

To Phyllis and Family, my condolences to you all. Doug was a remarkable man who powerfully impacted my life, both personally and professionally. A dairy industry titan, he lead by example with honour, integrity and honesty. In particular, he successfully took MCDC through the darkest days of 1981-84, out of a situation not of his making, and greatly restored the company. A tribute also to you all, as you paid the price of a husband and father having to defend the livelihood of hundreds, if not thousands. Kai Kaha, we will never forget this great man.
