Very sorry to hear of Cousin Don's passing. Thankyou Neil and Holle, Heather and Robert and families, for sharing your farewell service for Don, with us. You all did very well; your service was very moving, and we learnt a lot we did not know about him. Don and his Dad Uncle Tom looked very like my Dad, Bill Shanks, and always reminded me of him.

Don was a member of Tawa Rotary Club for 47 years and a dedicated supporter of so many projects and causes around Tawa. His professional accounting and finance skills were valued and wise advice often sought. He held roles as Club Treasurer, Trustee of the Club's Charitable Trust for many years as well as bing involved in community projects e.g. being a keen gardener himself he led a project to help families to grow their own vegetables. A kind, thoughtful yet unassuming man who without fuss would turn out to help when ever required. He will be missed by his Rotary friends.
