To Jayne and all Diana´s family
It was with much shock and sadness to hear of Diana´s passing. I met Diana as a new entrant at Newtown School. Diana and I shared a Latvian heritage and became best friends. During our primary school years our family and Diana´s spent many happy times together. Her mother was a wonderful seamstress (she made my wedding dress) and I remember the times we were allowed in her sewing room. We got to choose a piece of material and buttons from her incredible collection and make something. Of course Diana always managed something wonderful. Her dad was a cook and used to give Diana the sheep´s knuckles which she brought to school and used playing knucklebones. How green with envy we were. Val, Diana´s mother was also a great baker and I recall making marzipan fruits and vegetables at Christmas. The Krisjanous family had a playroom underneath the house and we loved to "hang out" there listening to Diana practice the violin. After primary school we moved in different directions and lost contact however our families remained friends.
To all Diana´s family I extend my deepest sympathy at the passing of a very talented woman.

From South Wellington Intermediate and Wellington East for several years my bestie. Caught up again at University as "mature" students. Our lives moved in different directions and we had different adventures, some of which profoundly affected those around us, but Diana's going to be missed for sure. Rest now my dear friend, the battle and the journey are finished. Thoughts and prayers with you Jayne and family.
