Dearly loved husband and best friend of Patricia, wonderful father, father-in-law and friend to Sue, Rich, Pip, Jane, Dave, Kate, Simon, Andrew and Jordan and a very special grandad (GDad) to James, Anna, Maddie, Jack, Tom, Henry, Lulu, Gus and Harry. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Peter and Robyn, Michael and Maureen and John and Shirley. Thank you to everyone for all your friendship and care. We all hold him close in our hearts. The family will gather for a private celebration of David's life. His gorgeous smile and twinkle in his eye will be remembered forever.

Sorry to hear of David´s passing. It was wonderful of Colleen to let us know. We certainly found a wonderful community when we brought at Wharewaka.

Dear Trish,
So sad to read of Davids passing in the Herald today whilst I was at my favourite cafe in Jervois Rd.
It immediately brought back memories of Townson & Mercer in the early sixties. Our visits to the Mercury Theatre on Friday nights and our dining out beforehand. We must have done that for nigh on 10 years. Then of course the badminton after work and our "seagulling" at the Gillies Ave courts. He will no doubt claim that he won more than he lost, but we all know that is simply not true!
Trish it will be hard for you for a while without the big fella around. Time however is a great healer. Just learn to look after yourself and live every day at a time.

Dear Pat, Sue, Rich, Pip, Jane and all the extended McKenzie family.
So sad to hear of of Dave's recent passing - I know he will leave a tremendous void in all your lives but I'm sure he is resting peacefully now.
I have such fond memories spent with your family at 10 Selwyn Cres and holidays in Taupo - plenty of wonderful meals, lots of laughs, keeping up with Dave's frequent architectural projects around the house ... hold onto all those wonderful memories and the many special years you shared together.

So very sad to hear of David's passing. I remember fondly the fun times we had with our families growing up.
The adventures and some mis adventures too!
My family send their love and support to you all and their comments were " he was a top man"
Pat you have been a power of strength with your love and caring of David, and he will be missed by you all.
