Darren HUNT Obituary
On 25 April 2021 following a long brave struggle with mental illness, at home in Lower Hutt, aged 47 years. Beloved father of Alex and Jasmine, husband of Sonya. Loving son of Penny (Lower Hutt) and John (Auckland). Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Jamie and Charlotte, and uncle of Olivia and Isabella (Auckland). A service to celebrate Darren's life will be held at Cornwall Manor, Cnr Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt, on Wednesday 5 May 2021, at 1.30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mental Health Foundation of NZ and may be left at the service. Messages to 'The Hunt family' may be sent to [email protected].

Dear Darren,
You touched so many lives with your kind and gentle nature. Your international work and support to the many countries you advised personally and through your work continues to be appreciated.
I will miss you my friend. I had hoped Rick, Bardan and I could all meet with you when these strange times ended and relive our fun, dramatic discussions.
I hope you are at peace and know your family is surrounded by love and support when they need it from strangers like us who loved you as well.

Gifted and sincere. A privilege to work with. I worked with him on the Review Advisory Group for the pandemic, nicknamed the ragamuffins by Darren, who had a sense of fun. He will be missed

Dear Penny and John,
