Damian GRAVES Obituary
Levin, 57 years young. The hugely loved Damian Richard Graves, devoted husband of Jill and sensational father of Amy-Jane and Tom, Brendan and Teri, Sophie and Matt, Jessica and Jackson and Kane, Gramps to Dexter, son to Walter and the late Freda , son-in-law to Marie and the late John McDonald, brother to Liam, Jemma, Blaise, Declan and Jacinta, courageously ended his well fought battle with cancer very peacefully, at his family home in Levin, on Tuesday, 7 June 2016. Well known for fighting crime and for being a top notch family man. Damian's wider family would like to extend the invite to celebrate his life. The Rosary will be held at 7pm on Friday, 10 June 2016 at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Weraroa Road, Levin. The funeral service will then be held on Saturday, 11 June 2016 at 1pm at the The Salvation Army Worship and Community Centre, Durham Street, Levin. My Sincere Condolences to Jill and all Damian's family,
I knew Damian from our early pre teen years, we met as neighbors at aged about eleven, we lost contact at about fourteen when he and his family emigrated to Levin NZ, when I managed to trace him a couple of years ago.
We initially used the modern dark arts of Skype to occasionally converse, and Damian visited me not long after.
He was the same good natured bloke I had known all those tears ago !
It has been heartening to read of the involvement Damian had with his community, but it came as no surprise, nor did the great things his colleagues have written about him.
He was a thoroughly good bloke !
