Craig ENNOR Obituary

ENNOR, Craig Kenneth:
Our favourite Dad, husband, Pop, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and general great guy, reeled his line in on 3 July 2020 peacefully without a decent final catch. (He'd tell you it was his best catch yet - and huge). Dad will be very much missed by so many, too many to mention.
Grieve not that he is not, rejoice that he ever was.
At Craig's request please wear bright clothes and a smile. In memory of Craig, a donation to HB Search and Rescue or Cranford Hospice may be left at the service and would be gratefully received. A celebration of Craig's life will be held in St Columba's Presbyterian Church, 176 Gloucester Street, Taradale, Napier, on Tuesday, 7 July, at 2.30pm, followed by private cremation. Messages to The Ennor Family, c/- PO Box 439, Napier 4140.

Thanks for the memories Craig. Far too many to detail here!
Your bubbly personality has always been a bright spot in our long friendship.
I always enjoyed our time together. These occasions were fewer in recent years, as I have lived in Thailand, but never-the-less still fun, recalling the past !

My sincere condolences MaryAnne.
RIP Craig.

Craig was a special guy with a keen sense of humour and a unique sense of fun. We were in the same form at Napier Boys' High School and I'll never forget one very hot lunch hour Craig appearing in army gear and with a rifle and fixed bayonet, marching up and down the quad. He presented arms, and declared he was "there to protect us", much to the entertainment of the boys.

In the mid 1980's Craig was the manager of the FarmWorld tourist complex at Mystery Creek near Hamilton.
It showcased NZ agriculture and livestock.
The late Peter Chubb and I were employed as the animal handlers/trainers and occasional show compère when Craig wasn't presenting. For Pete and I it really was the best job of our working careers and it was mostly due to Craig and the way he treated everyone. We got the job done and we had so much fun doing it. He always had the biggest smile, the fastest walk in his red-band gumboots and often had a cigarette in one hand heading off to run a show, and he would interact with anyone and everyone on the way making everyone feel welcomed and relaxed. Working with animals was always unpredictable and even when Ernie the goat clamped down on Craig's finger drawing blood and not letting go or Pooch the opossum sinking his claws into Craig's skin more than usual... the show went on with Craig in pain and bleeding, but still smiling and taking it all in his stride.
His humour and quick wit was infectious and he had the ability to converse with all age groups as he respected people. It has been years since I was in contact with Craig, but the great memories he has left me with, makes it still feel like it was only yesterday.
As life passes by and as everyone's journeys go in different directions, there are only a few very special people that you never ever forget and for me that includes Craig and Wilma.
Unfortunately I am unable to get to the funeral on Tuesday. To MaryAnne and the family my sincere condolences. RIP Craig xox
