What you did for us in TH Milk ( Viet Nam), what you did for the veterinarian group at TH Milk , it is very enormous.
I do not want but i have to say goodbye to you, I will keep every thing i have about you, the time we had dinner together, the time we worked together, the time we relaxed with a cup of beer in Viet Nam Viet and share some story together....
May rest in the peace, Colin

Dr Colin,
Remember whenDr Colin got lost in Hoa Binh province. It was very late at night and he was unable to determine location. He called to Vet office for help and Mr Duc who came there during the night to bring him back in the morning! That was an unforgettable memory for all of us.
I still remember his compliment: Vietnamese women are the most beautiful who I have ever met'.
I still remember his smiles, his friendliness when he met people.
I still remember the day he came around all the farms to send everyone his warm hug, his lucky money to say goodbye Vietnam before heading home.
He's always in our mind.
Now, let's pray him forever in eternity peace

For me, he stayed in my memories with warmly smile always and gave me confidence when communicating with my poor English.

Our time with you was so brief Dr. Colin, but all of which are full of fun. The VEteam was looking forward to that day when you would have joined our practice same time with Dr. Leo, but we're guessing you prefer the field work from up above.

Your vet life has been full, challenging and surely exciting. And we celebrate that life with your family. Vinaka vakalevu Doc for adding more spice to our Fiji life. Our team have all good memories with you! ~ Elva & Leo in behalf of Vet Essentials Team

The team at TVL Awapuni that worked with Colin a couple of years back - (Allie, Ryan, Katie, Leisa, Selena, Greg, Barry, Jax, Tara, Gaye), all loved working with Colin. He was always in for a joke and a laugh. He earned the nickname MacGyver from us as he could fix anything with his own bit of Kiwi Ingenuity. All very shocked and saddened that he is gone too soon. He will be missed. Thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Dr. Wakelin was my first mentor when I started large animal veterinary work experience back in 2007. He was a natural when it came to teaching and loved being able to pass information onto keen students, as well as farmers. It was through him that I learned of Massey University and then later went on to do my Veterinary studies there. His children were his pride and joy and he talked about them constantly. Family was very important to him. He loved to travel and enjoyed sports and beer...he truly made the most of life! The attached photo is from January 2011 when I was on break from Vet school and did some work experience with Dr. Wakelin. I'll always be grateful to him for the path he set me on and will miss him greatly. Thoughts and prayers are with Andy, Jessie, Shona, Mike, Vicki, and all the rest of the family.
