Caragh BRIGGS Obituary

On the 15th April 2024 at her home in Te Kopi, Carterton District. Aged 54 yrs. After a brave and intelligent fight against cancer. Cherished wife of Ross Bowles; wonderful daughter of Marilyn and Robin Briggs of Te Wharau; adored sister, sister-in-law and aunt of Juli, Tim and Rosie Walters; dearly loved daughter-in-law of Pam Bowles and the late Keith of Masterton, and loved member of the Bowles family, and family and long standing friends in New Zealand and abroad. Also respected and loved as a teacher, latterly at Carterton's South End Montessori School, and in the dog agility community. Many thanks to the health professionals who supported Caragh and to the Cancer Society Wairarapa. Messages to the family may be posted to c/- PO Box 2055 Masterton 5842. No flowers please,but koha to the Cancer Society, Wairarapa would be appreciated, via their website. The family warmly invite you to a celebration of Caragh's life, to be held at Rosewood 415 Queen St, Masterton, on Friday 19th April at 1.00pm. Dearest Caragh´s loved ones.
My heart is saddened for you all.
Caragh certainly touched many hearts in her teaching & all she did x
Her humble & selfless way that smile & laugh
I´ll treasure our messages as some she sent me inspired me to keep on keeping on.
We had a lovely teaching relationship and I was blessed to teach beside her at Greytown School. The best being that Ms Briggs taught my gal. Fav teacher
We had many a heart felt chat, both professionally & personal. We loved our down time moments & custard squares x
A beautiful person who enriched my life & all those she encountered.

To Robin and Marilyn and Caragh's family - I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Though it's been 40 years since I was last in NZ, I remember Caragh fondly from my childhood in Wellington. The world has lost another bright light.
