Of Waitangi and Waiputaputa. His life's journey ended at the Wairoa Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Marg. Adored and respected father and father in law of Elizabeth and Wayne, Meg and Wayne, and Jamie and Ange. Treasured "Bruce" to Kate, Daniel, Alec, Annie, Calum, Lachie, Thomas, Annabel and Charlotte. Loved brother of Margaret Frederick and friend of Tania. A funeral service will be held on Thursday 12 August 2021 at 11.00am at Pickering Funeral Chapel, followed by interment in the Wairoa Old Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks to Dr Margaret Fielding, Queen Street Practice, Wairoa Hospital Nurses and Staff, District Nurses and St John Ambulance for the care, compassion and respect. To Libby & Wayne, Meg & Wayne, Jamie & Ang and families.
So saddened to read of your dad's passing
Loved the Black and white on Bruce's coffin.
I have very vivid memories of Horse & Gig giggling in our street in Clyde Road by the Athletic clubrooms, after 6 o'clock closing, following their latest Athletic rugby game.
Dad used to always have bar of chocolate beside his bed. One night we heard this noise outside and here was Horse & Gig climbing up dad's ladder pushing their bedroom window up, climbing in sat down on Mum and Dad's bed ate their chocolate. The house was only a single story one!!
Once they had their fill of the chocolate off they went.
