Brian GALVIN Obituary
Died peacefully in his sleep. Loved brother of Robin, Noel and Patricia; uncle of Alex & Emma, Aaron & Sam and Leigh; great-uncle of James, Romy and Nicholas. Long time proprietor of Hataitai Motors. Messages to 'the Galvin family' may be left in Brian's tribute book at the top of this page or posted c/- PO Box 14-366, Kilbirnie, Wellington 6241. A service for Brian will be held at the Cockburn Street Chapel, cnr Cockburn St & Onepu Rd, Kilbirnie, on Tuesday 12th July at 2.00pm, thereafter private cremation.

Dear Brian
On behalf of Hataitai and surrounds many thanks for all your years of service to the Community.
You were one of a rare breed- a giver.
Overcharging was an anathema to you and because you enjoyed a challenge (your words) I've never heard of a job that defeated you.
(Tis just a pity your expertise did not extend to picking winners.)
Many thanks, too, for thirty years plus of friendship.
I enjoyed our prolonged discussions on what was wrong with the world and how it could be righted.
I knew time was up when you issued a terse two-word command, for sometimes your language was like your character- salt of the earth.
You were a good bloke- the ultimate tribute any Kiwi can pay another.
Rest easy, mate.
