Sharing a coffee with the then new curate at Petone, now retired Bishop Owen Dolan, I was saddened to hear of Fr Brian's passing. May he RIP.
Indeed Petone and SPC have lost a champion.

We are heartbroken when we heard of Fr. Brian's passing. Fr. Brian had looked after Caritas whenever we had our training days at Pa Maria. Additionally some of us sought his wisdom and spiritual direction. We will miss you greatly, Fr. Brian. We know the angels will be caring for you now.

What a shock the news of your passing was on Saturday.
From school days to our older age you have been there for us all supporting, encouraging and remembering all our special needs during days when you already had more than enough to carry in your daily work load.
Life without a text or an email being sent or returned seems impossible to comprehend in the future.
I shared the news of your sickness and loss with the family at home in Poland and they too were stunned and are remembering you in their prayers now, as you have so often done for them, in their times of great need over the past few years.
I am sure that you have already shared many moments with your precious Mum - yours with words and Mum with her organ/piano music and the Angels in the background choir.
These words have been said before for many others but never truer than for you, that God has you in his keeping and we have you in our hearts and prayers.
RIP Brian,
Krysia

So sad that such a good and wise man has left us.
His compassion and gentle humour endeared him to many. Such was his dignity that I had no idea until very late of the enormity of what he faced. Although I was prepared for this saddest of news, it is no less impacting. Thanks Brian Rest in Peace.

A wonderful friend and tutor of our boys at St Bedes. A friend to us because of the bond he made with our boys and the way he treated us in their interests. May he rest in peace.

I received a message from a former team mate (Mike Quigg) and school friend of Brian and I a few days ago to inform me Brian was in his final days. I was stunned as we kept in touch by text and I saw him 2-3 times last year for coffee. When my Brother Brett passed away 2011, Brian, John Murphy and Fr Barry O´Connor took the service. We have known each other for well over 50 years as school mates and team mates in cricket, rugby and basketball. Brian has had a fantastic career, at Stream, Town and St Bedes. His faith has been strong right through his life and I hope it has given him strength in his final days.
Petone has lost a favourite son.
RIP to his family, friends and all who have known him.
