I worked with Bill at NZ Railways in the early 1990s. One of our tasks was checking oversized loads on wagons would fit thru the tunnels etc and we always checked with Bill for a second opinion which was fortunate as there were times the wagons would not have fitted and could have caused a derailment. I was always thankful for Bill's calm demeanor and significant knowledge. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Bill's death. We worked with him at NZ Railways , he was a really nice man . He always spoke so lovingly of his wife. He had a great sense of humour and was a great leg puller. We have missed seeing him around for a while now.
Our deepest sympathy to Jill and his family.Peter and Wendy Gibson ,Lower Hutt.
