Bill GAZZARD Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 20th February 2024 at the Woburn Masonic Care, Lower Hutt, Aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of Jill for 51 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Paula & Dean; and Matt & Marketa. Loving Grandad of Connor and Lachlan. All communications to the Gazzard Family can be sent c/- PO Box 30067, Lower Hutt 5040. Special thanks to the staff of Woburn Masonic Care for their excellent care of Bill and support to the family. A Service for Bill will be held in St James' Anglican Church, Woburn Road, Lower Hutt on Monday 26th February 2024 at 10.00am, thereafter private cremation.

I worked with Bill at NZ Railways in the early 1990s. One of our tasks was checking oversized loads on wagons would fit thru the tunnels etc and we always checked with Bill for a second opinion which was fortunate as there were times the wagons would not have fitted and could have caused a derailment. I was always thankful for Bill's calm demeanor and significant knowledge. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Bill's death. We worked with him at NZ Railways , he was a really nice man . He always spoke so lovingly of his wife. He had a great sense of humour and was a great leg puller.We have missed seeing him around for a while now.
