HILL, Bernard York:
Peacefully on 20th January 2023 at Wellington Hospital, aged 88 years. Dearly beloved husband of Angela and father of Martin and Cathie. Brother of Malcolm and Dorothy (both dec), uncle of Stephen, Phillip and David. Lap of first choice for Harry, the cat. Our very special thanks to Sinéad and all the team at ED and Ward 5S for their kindness and tenderness, to the cheerful but pragmatic Plimmerton ambulance team, to the tireless district nurses especially the perceptive and empathic Chantelle, and lastly to his GP Alistair, who made all the time for him in the world. No flowers please. Donations to The Malaghan Institute, The Women's Refuge, The Cancer Society. A private cremation has been held.

I was very sad to read of Bernard's death in the Cathedral News yesterday. Bernard was such a gentleman with a lovely sense of humour.
