Barry WILLIAMS Obituary
Beloved husband and best friend of Sally, fiercely devoted father to Vanessa and Frith, and dearly cherished member of the 'Magnificent Seven', passed away comfortably and surrounded by loving family on 11 August 2024. He never lost his optimism and maintained his famous positive spirit to the last, enjoying a joke and a giggle. Barry's bottomless generosity, kindness, love, and sense of humour will remain forever in the hearts of the very many lives he touched. A small gathering in celebration of Barry's life will be held at Ohariu Golf Club from 3-5pm on 23 August. Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at Mary Potter Hospice in Newtown who cared for Barry with unwavering kindness, compassion, and dignity. My wife Marg and I count ourselves very lucky to have known Barry Williams for a long time.
I first met Barry about 40 years ago, when he worked for Mike Booth at Continental Cars in Kent Terrace, Wellington.
Being a big fan of cars from Italy, I was a regular visitor at Continental Cars, checking out the latest models. Barry was always upbeat, relaxed and friendly, with a great sense of humour. He was a very good man. I always looked forward to my catching up with him.
Our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy go out to Sally, Vanessa and Frith, and Barry's wider family.
